Interview with my father on his favourite book

We sat down on the sofa and it began. I was asked to have an interview with my father on what is his favorite book during his childhood days and so, i am sitting here with my laptop on my lap, interviewing my father on what is his favorite book during his childhood days. And this is what he said:

During my childhood days, my family was not very wealthy and my father had to support my family of seven siblings. And so, I didn't had the opportunity to buy any storybooks to read but a few years ago, i read a book that was very interesting. The books' name was Troy:Lord of The Silver Bow. It was written by David Gemmell.

The story was based on the Trojan Wars in the ancient Greece. The story was written about war, treachery, courage and also love. The main characters were Helikaon who was a Prince Dardanian. Aeneas was his true name but he preferred to be called Helikaon.

The other character is Argurios, Helikaon's sworn enemy as Helikaon killed many of his fellow Mykene warrior, or 'pirates' as all the others call them.

Andromache, a beautiful priestess of Thera who fell in love with Helikaon but was to be married to the prince of the golden city, Troy, Prince Hektor.

Hektor, a fearless warrior, were Helikaon's best friends. Hektor won countless wars and was the dream husband of all the unmarried females in Troy but yet, he can't get the heart of who he loved, Andromache.

The whole book was only part of a series and 'Lord of The Silver Bow' was only the beginning of the three books long of story. The story was mainly on wars, treachery and also the love story of Helikaon and Andromanche.

The favorite part of the story to me is when Argurios saved a young boy who nearly dropped into the great green, the ocean. It happened when a storm came and the boat he was on, the Xanthos was decided to be rode with the storm. When all seem to pass, a great wave came the young boy, Xander was hit by the wave and nearly fell into the grest green if not for Argurios' courage of not caring for his life and jumped towards the boy, got hold of him and rescued him from going to Hades.

After i heard about what my father told me, i had the urge to read the book. So i went to the library and saw it right on the shelf. I got the book and sat at a corner of the library and started reading the book. When i started reading, i finally realized how my father felt when he was reading the book.

David Gemmell was indeed a genius as he could have wrote such a great a story that makes me confused whether this is pure history or it is just pure fiction.

When i got home that night, I surfed the net, I found out that David Gemmell had died of coronary artery disease. He died when he was working on the trilogy of his three book fiction, Troy:Fall of The Kings. When he died, he was working on the book and had completed nearly 70, 000 words of the story.

After his death, his wife Stella Gemmell continued his work and finished the other half of the story and was published in the year 2007 under the joint authorship of David and Stella Gemmell.

I believe such a great and respected author would be remembered through the years. Forever and forever...............
