Chapter 6 Safe and sound (part 1)

With it, Tav exited the airplane and got on a taxi and towards Mark's house. It was not after long before he arrived at the doorstep of Mark's bungalow. It was of Italian design and painted with bright yellow, as always, Mark's favorite colour.

Tav pressed the door-bell and moved a step back. Within seconds, an old servant, in an plain white shirt came out and asked what I was looking for. I told him that I was looking for Mark. The old servant's face went pale and retreated back into the house.

After a while, two uniformed police emerged from the house with a fat man that Tav thought that was Mark. The fat man stopped and too his face was pale as the old servant. He was in a plain Polo tee. He stepped one step forward and asked Tav.

'How did you know that I am Mark? Who are you?'
Tav's gave a plain answer as, 'I am Tav.'

With that, Mark signaled the old servant to open the doors and they then went in together. The house was bigger than it seemed. Cameras were placed at nearly everywhere and this is the security Tav needed. Mark stopped in front of a big door compared to the others and he got in. Tav entered after him.

The room was the bar. Expensive champagne and cocktail were placed on the shelves, and also red wine. Mark took a 1990 vintage Grange. Taking out two glass wine cups and slowly poured the wine into the cups.

Mark slowly sipped the wine and finally the silence was broke by Mark's butler who tumbled into the room with a plate of snacks. Tav thanked before Mark shoved him out of the room with the door closed behind.

Mark picked a snack from the plate and said, 'So, it's been some years after you left. I don't know what happened then and what now but if you want to stay here in my house any longer you will have to answer me on what happened on that day after you was kidnapped by the.......' Mark paused and took a sip of the red wine and continued,'men in black. I want you to tell you exactly what happened on that day and what happened after that day and most importantly, why you are here in this state.'

Tav adjusted his sit and finished the wine in one sip. He reached for the bottle and filled his cup again with the 1990 vintage Grange. He took a deep breath and started,' If I am to tell you the whole thing, we will still be sitting here when the next world cup is held again so I will only tell you the things that are important. On that day, those men are from an organization and they're called the Pheonix.....'

Tav's words were lost as Mark interrupted,'I believe I heard that name somewhere before but I don't quite remember where.'

'You're always the old Mark, always asking questions after questions. If you keep on interrupting like this, we will never get anywhere. The Pheonix is an organization that kills for money. I was captured then because my father were once part of the organization and he was some how one of the so called Chosen Ones and he held the ability to kill with just one thought.'

'You must be kidding me man. You mean your father can kill with just one thought? This is so imaginary. Then are you going to tell me that you can also do that because it is in your gene?'

'I was getting there, you know? When i was captured, i was put through a lot of impossible task like killing a dog by just looking at it. I, of course can't do it in the beginning but then it all came. My mind was filled with the thoughts of wanting the dog to be dead and then when i was looking at the dog, it just went dead.'

'Is this supposed to be like the Death Note? But i thought it is supposed to be that you write on the book?'

'Do i look as if i am joking with you?'

'Oh, sorry! Please continue.'

'I was trained as an assassin and when time comes, i was sent for tasks. I was sent to countless tasks or can i say 'jobs'. And for why I am here, it is because i finally found out that i was being used this whole time. So now, I am trying to turn over a new leaf.'

'That's good my friend. As long as you don't do anything bad, this house will always be open to you.'
